Along to "Sailing By", one of the bestest late night familiarity tunes there can possibly be - a sign that the world is normal, a sign that regularity is back, with a vengeance. A sign that very soon, you'll be hearing the words "Tyne, Dogger, Fisher, German Byte", Humber in quick succession. "Lundy, Fastnet, Northwesterly 5 or 6, rain then showers, moderate or poor, becoming good".
I am so sad :-) But I enjoy listening to the shipping forecast for it's regularity, for it's monotony, for the fact that the BBC have been doing this for 40years, and it hasn't changed a jot in that time, apart from the voice.
