Yeah, I've been playing around with some of my New York 2001 photos and seeing how they print out. Unfortunately, the answer is "not too well"... I only have an ancient BJC-250 that was bought when I started uni, so is now 3 - nearly 4 years old, was a refurbished model, and has been fairly abused in my ownership!
All this aside, having been bought a new black cartridge today, it turns out that the B&W photos are actually turning out remarkably well. The biggest problem is the photo size... they're only 640*480 (originally, before I crop the cruft off the edges) and to get a decent look on paper they have to be scaled up. This inevitably causes picture quality loss. Well actually, the biggest problem is that my colour cartridge is ancient - and the picture switches between being streaky and being perfect at random points. It needs a damned good clean!
I'm happy enough with the outcome........ but still want a laser printer!
