I rock in no small way.
The car's CD player has been pissing me off, skipping back to the Radio half-way through a CD, apparently at random. Experimentation and much car rocking yesterday showed the cause of the randomness - it appeared that the changer unit was carrying on playing whilst resolutely telling the dashboard unit that it wasn't. Weird.
So today I decided I'd fiddle a bit, try mounting it horizontally instead of vertically. But it didn't work, solely because the mounting screws are in just the wrong place, and I ain't willing to start drilling more holes in my motor :) Now, there is a mechanism for telling the changer unit whether it is mounted horizontally or vertically, supposed to affect the suspension of the inner mechanism. It was set and mounted vertically, when I put it back in it's original position I forgot to reset it from horizontal. D'oh. Decided to experiment anyhow, and could I get it to skip, jump or flip back to radio? No. Not once. Even along King St. (hell hath no fury compared to this horrible road).
So, mounted vertically, set as horizontal. Remember this secret *G*
Oh, and yes. Life is so exciting I feel the need to write about this.
