I'm having HORRENDOUS car trouble. I stopped off at Safeway to fill up the tank today (I can't even get £20 of petrol in there unless I run it very very dry, and that will last me 3-4 days of commuting (about 200miles), and when I got back in the car and turned the key?

Nothing. Not a fut, not a fat. Nothing at all from the engine. I got my dad out with a tow rope, tried it before he pulled up beside me and it still wasn't working. He gets out the car, I go to demonstrate and bam - it starts as normal. FFS. There is something very wrong with the alarm/immobiliser, and it can NOT continue. What if I was stranded at a service station on the M6? I couldn't exactly call my folks and say "help?". I'm going to Red Vehicle Solutions tomorrow to demand something's done about it - because that car is not reliable. Dad and I took a good look around tonight and we think it might simply be the little box of electronics that's going wrong - and it it can just be replaced straight out, that's all I'll ask.

It's so frustrating though, I got off work at 4pm and shoulda been home by 5 at the latest. Didn't make it until past 6. ARGH! I wish I had plans......
