For being a grumpy bastard.
I'm not a nice person when I am deprived of my late nights and late mornings. For some reason, my body clock has taken this skew to heart, and refuses to operate if pushed outwith normal parameters.
So - 7:30am starts are hell.
I don't understand how you people do it.
I got a call from Paul (hiring dude for the potential job) today, telling me that they'd managed to arrange transport down south, as apparently there are 2 other guys from our contact centre going down for an interview on the same day. Ouch. One of them - Stuart - is a real old hand and already works in Systems Control, which is the dept I am heading for. I suddenly feel horribly intimidated. I was really confident before. I guess I shouldn't worry - I still have the same chance as I did...
Anyhow... the upshot is that they were offering me a lift in a hire car (paid for by the company) to Doxford. Problem: I want to go to Manchester from Sunderland, not back to Glasgow. This means that my hopes of getting expenses are scuppered, as my excuse has been removed. Damnit. Oh well. It's not that much cash.
I'll find out pretty quick whether I got the job or not - if I don't, I'll press on with the transfer as a CSA in Dearne as previously planned.
I'm going to Safeway to buy comfort food and booze. Guess how I plan to spend tonight? Then I am going to bed.
