I've watched the storm come from the west, roll over my house and it's currently making it's way gently and rather slowly to the east. It's still illuminating the sky at _very_ regular intervals, and filling the night with rumblings.

And there's been very little rain, it's almost hurricane like - you see it coming from miles away, no disruption until it's on top of you, then it's gone, and life continues as normal.

Ahhh, nothing like the storms I've seen in the States, but still - I love it. Hope it makes it's way down south for you poor sweltering people down there.

Had a phab chat tonight. Feels like it's been ages.
*gives a sigh*
Guess I should go sleep sometime?

I'm quite impressed - almost every LJ user that I recognise on there is a Monochrome user. There are many that I don't recognise, but still.

I'd love to know more details on how this is worked out. Can anyone point me to a particular post explaining it?

It's unusually quiet around the street tonight, or maybe I've just not noticed it. Either way, the windows are flung wide, the sea breeze is blowing through the house, the temperature is bearable, and I've not touched the computer for anything apart from playing MP3s since I finished my overtime at 9.

I've been reading Artemis Fowl, and I'm really glad I chose this book to get back into the habit. It's taken me just over an hour to read just under half the book, it's easy reading. I've had Phantom of the Opera, Catatonia, Oh Brother, Cab Calloway, Prodigy, and it's been way too long.

Remind me to turn the TV off more often.

There are many many things I want to do. I want to do it all. I really do, but I'm willing to wait to do them. Having people up is a perfect opportunity to do them, but whenever I seem to have people up, doing stuff tends to be the last thing on our minds.

You can take that how you like, but when I point out that this includes [livejournal.com profile] amphigorey13 as was, [livejournal.com profile] pipsytip, Rach, [livejournal.com profile] kundrun and [livejournal.com profile] failmaster, it's not all naughtiness that's on my mind. Mostly it is, but not all the time :P

Why? I think it would be nice to get out on the Waverley for a day trip sometime. The Waverley is the last remaining sea-faring paddle steamer in the world, I do believe, and regularly does trips around the islands on the western edge of Scotland.

I would like to go up north, and just pootle around up there, spend some time up in the hills and not have to bother with a plan. You know, in my entire life I have never been north of Dundee, and I only went there once or twice - as a kid, to Dalguise, to the PGL holiday place. And I've spent how long living in Scotland?

I should spend some time in Edinburgh this month - it's Fringe-time. And I'm doubtless going to miss it all, because although I'm terribly terribly interested by it all, having nobody to go with makes it a little less appealing. Oh, and I promised myself I would be very careful with money this month.

On a related note (money), I went to Ikea today. I nearly bought it. I nearly got my table. It's too expensive, dagnabitt. £135 for a coffee table, is that ludicrous or is it just me having expensive tastes and liking the good stuff? I spent just over a tenner - a bread bin, batteries and a bottle opener. Wild. It did take a lot of willpower not to buy more though.

Irene - send me your addie again, I think I must have deleted that mail or it's in t-email and I don't have any way of searching the messages there. I have a CD waiting to make it's way to you.
