Oh, Current Music has just changed to Red Dwarf - The End - on UK Gold.
I've been watching a few minutes here and there of BBUSA - it's appaling! I've seen maybe 20 minutes in total, and that's more than I have seen of any of the UK ones. I was so unimpressed by it, I will be avoiding it with every ounce of my viewing abilities from now on.
On a geeky note, I can't get Linux & X11 (4.2 I _think_) to do TV Out properly with my laptop's ProSavage DDR graphics card. Anyone got any tips?
I was given the most interesting display of local politics out the window earlier on. About 9:30-10:00pm or so, I heard a load of shouting through my open windows, ignored it for a while until it started to sound interesting :) Apparently 3, 14yr old girls wearing very low cut tops and tracksuit bottoms were requesting the pleasure of another group's company (whom I couldn't see), for a soiree involving fisticuffs.
I was disappointed when one of the group was restrained by the other two (only very lightly restrained, she wasn't trying very hard to get out) from running back and, well... I assume she wasn't going to have a conversation with the other group.
Just to make it all perfect, there was lots of shouting of "Fuck off you fat junkie slag" - isn't it nice!?
Oddly enough, I didn't hear the other group say a single word.
Enough blabbering. On to the good stuff. Rimmer's just signed his own handprint, and Lister is on his way to see the captain and flirting with Kochanski. The deleted bit from this scene is cringeworthy - I feel really sorry for Chloe Annette to have to have put up with that!
I said a few days ago that GnuCash was maturing. I've definitely upped my rating of GnuCash from "good potential, needs some work" to "damn good application". Still don't like the whole double entry thing, it seems to make things too complicated for the average user. I'm coming from an MS Money background here. You types your transactions and your bills and it "does it".
Oh, cron-o-clock just passed by.
Wonder what the chances are of a last minute, low cost trip away somewhere this weekend. I know some folk from work are going to Largs - they've got family down there. Maybe I could head to Irvine or something, spend a bit of time exploring the coastal regions - some very pretty bits apparently.
Alternatively, I could make a list of things I need to do. And do them. The list is quite long. That would be cheaper. And more productive. But much less nice.
Oh, Rimmer's just walked in the room, dead.
It's a ver' ver' pretty night out there. No clouds in the sky. Just a shame there's so much light pollution round this region. Maybe a late night trip up the hills would get a better view - there's some out the way back roads which go towards Glasgow which might afford some stunning views, at the right times. Another possibility for the weekend.
No, hang on - I just remembered. Tomorrow I am doing overtime from 9-12am, and then there's a possibility that I could be going to a barbecue in the evening. Dang, forgot about that. Best not forget I have the o/t booked!
Have I twaddled on enough to keep you reading and busy for a few minutes, Caroline?
