You'd be crazy too...
Well, anyone remember my ongoing wranglings with Scottish Power and Powergen? I would dig into the archives to remind you but I can't be arsed. As a quick reminder:
Guess who just came to the door?
A man from Scottish Power!
They were trying to tempt me back. I was going to do this anyhow, but had been so lazy I hadn't yet bothered. So I let him do the work instead, and have now just to wait for SP to send PG the paperwork which should take about 4-5 weeks, and things shall be back to normal. HAH! Normal. Yeah right. Then I move. Hmph.
I've done absolutely nothing of any use today. I've put away all the stuff I bought from my parents', I've made a sausage sandwich. I have spodded and written emails. I have drunk water with ice in, and I have done the electricity thing, though that was 'forced' upon me rather than being done by me. Someday I shall put the hoover back in the cupboard. Someday I shall do something with the books I no longer want. My mum's social work books especially.
Working Tue-Fri 8:30-5, Sat 10-6:30 and 2hrs overtime on Tuesday night, 5:15-7:15. Might book a shedload of o/t for next week and work myself silly, if I can. Well you see I've got 11hrs in already, and only another 7 days or so to fit in the extra 9 or so that I want to make it up to 20hrs (I try to do about 20hrs/mo - it means I have a vaguely consistent amount of money coming in). Then it's only a few more days until the Empress arrives.
I've found one house in Sheffield that I am liking quite a lot already, just from the description and price and photos. I have no concept of what the area is like, upmystreet.com suggests it's OKish but it's hardly critical of anywhere - even my current area :) David - can you say anything about it? It's this area of Tinsley.
I was going to head down to the area at the end of the month, but I might not leave it until then. Depends how many places I get in my big list.

- I asked to transfer from SP to PG in November or so, 2002
- I paid powergen for about 3 or 4 months
- I then received a bill from SP
- I wrote to them both, demanding that they told me who I was actually supposed to be paying
- I got my money back from PG, and told them I never wanted to hear from them again
- Then, a week or two ago I got a letter from PG stating that my electricity supply was being transferred
