I've had a fantastic weekend with Jane - she popped over Saturday night and after work we spent the night doing very little. She's a bad lady and has bought me an early Christmas present - a coffee table! HURRAH! Now my living room looks more like a living room, and I don't need to spod with the laptop on (*gasp*) my lap!

Went to Meadowhall today which was unpleasant to say the least. I don't think I'll be going back very often. Would rather drive/take the train to Leeds or Sheffield or Halifax and shop there, but we both thought it'd be a good idea.

It was good in that we got all the pressies we were after. Got a few things for myself too. I spent about (*counts*)... £26 (Debbenham's)+£23 (Play.com)+£16 (Waterstone's)+£16 (House of Fraser)=£91 (I think - eek). And of that, £16 was on myself. The only thing I haven't bought is something for Jane's parents. She's suggested a good bottle of wine, I think this is a half-decent suggestion considering I don't have any other ideas.

The DVD player... oh my. Goodman's DVD player with 5.1 surround (5 speakers + bass) for £35 from someone at work. I am seriously impressed. Jane and I watched the Matrix and it sounds SO much better than ever before. I need to do some work on the cabling and where to put the speakers but wow. For the price...

I'm a happy man, even though I'm terrified by the prospect of Christmas being with us in under 4 days time. I'd got no idea it was so soon and it seems to have snuck up on me horribly quickly. I keep on talking about having days off to do stuff which are days I have arranged to be at Jane's parents house...

Dinner tonight was a fantastically simple affair, dirt cheap but really
nice. Morrison's do chinese style pork belly strips for a ridiculously
cheap price and I'd bought a bag of pre-prepared salad on the cheap as well.

Dead simple. Dead easy. Dead nice. Must buy more of those in the future.

I bought a bottle of Champagne (Moet and Chandon '98) and a bunch of
flowers whilst out shopping on Saturday night. I was going to totally
treat Jane well, she loved the flowers but the champagne is now going to
be saved until New Year's Eve. Hopefully by then I will have some
champagne flutes! *g*
