Guess who's an idiot then?
I turned up at work on Tuesday, late. At about 7:30 or so. Got odd looks and just assumed it was because I was late. Turns out I'd booked holiday from Tues-Fri... *d'oh* I didn't remember because well, it wasn't in my diary!
So I have been chilling, mostly. Got lots of house stuff done. Trying to get rid of yet another slug problem... what is it with me and houses? Or do all houses suffer from slug issues? They're disgusting creatures and I resent having to clear up their trails, and it's horrid if I have to come downstairs in the dark, just in case I step on one of the little buggers... anyhow. In lieu of having any real slug killing material, I have liberally salted the areas that I guess/know they come in. Fingers crossed, for the last 2 nights I haven't found any new trails.
I've tidied, I've organised, my living room now has less cables trailing around, and instead of having cables stopping cupboard doors closing, I now have holes in said cupboards for cables to go through. I knew buying a drill would pay off! I've been to leeds, spent very little, and done some work on a spreadsheet for Jane/'s Dad. I'm having a little trouble as I don't have the Excel VBA help files installed and I lent Jane my Office2000 CD. D'oh. Anyone know where to find a decent VBA/Excel reference online - not a tutorial, a reference?
I've also found a rather nifty ESD output plugin for Winamp, which is good. As my laptop speakers are crap, whenever I was in Windows before, I had to suffer crap quality music - but no longer! (mainpc is plugged straight into my HiFi, and runs an esd server which accepts input from any local network client and pumps it to the stereo). Took lots of fiddling though...
Tired boy, am I.
Ordered Red Dwarf Series IV from CD-Wow. Bad man. But for £13.49 I just could not justify saying no.
Have been investigating methods of getting to Halifax by train. Unfortunately it appears to take nearly 2hrs to do that journey by train when I can do it in 45mins by car (as long as it's not rush (2-)hour(s)!). May investigate coach. Less time, cheaper.... weird. I don't get it.
Gonna go to bed and read the Times :)
