Why telling a lady that their crotch is damp is a bad idea. I was referring to her trousers having on the line, but when you've got neighbours you don't know that well in a garden not too far away... I'm not sure they'd understand.

A random bloke asked me yesterday if I got my gas sorted out. Referring back to when I first moved in and didn't know it was a prepaid meter. I went round the houses on the street and begged people for help but nobody could. I was astonished he remembered who I was, never mind anything else!

Watching Baz Luhrman's R+J on C4 - it's a fantastic piece of work. Not true to the real thing in more ways than I can think of but still hits the right spots for me. Soundtrack fits it perfectly. Occasionally get the feeling that Clare Danes doesn't know the meaning of what she's saying but they mostly convince me.

I've given up on my disk drive. S.M.A.R.T. checks failed with an IRQ error. Never had problems before the recent ones so I am assuming it's failing rapidly. I'm annoyed I can't get my emails off it nor the pics. I wanted to back those two things up before it died but it gave up before I got the chance and a few blank CDs. *sigh*

Yesterday Jane and I went to York to see the failmaster who is having a worse time of it than I am in the jobs department, appears to be keeping alright and we took him for a jaunt out to the North Yorks moors, along some very twisty, windy and very steep roads - a 25% gradient?! Why?

Drove past RAF Fylingdales which is a horrendous blot on the landscape and a very odd place indeed. An enormous long range radar station rumoured to be integral to the US based "Star Wars" plan. Curry good.

Today - not much at all but just fantastic to spend it with a grumpy lady :)
