Boxing day: Half day at work, home, pack, drive. Drive like the wind. Over the penines was fun on an icy day with morons trying to kill themselves. Over the M56 easily, made it in 2hrs almost dead. Soup, tea and hugs. Dinner at Avril and Graham's - friends of the gf's family - was fabulous swordfish followed by wine and whisky. Home, sleep.

Can't remember a thing about the next day other than waking up late. Either my memory's failing or we didn't do anything exciting. I think we went for a walk around the mere at Ellesmere

28th involved a trip to Chester and lots of sale shopping (Whittard's sale is great - almost everything half-price!), a subway lunch, then Lemony Snickett's Series of Unfortunate Events at the cinema. Jane being a big fan of the books and me not having read them, think we both enjoyed it in different ways :)

Home, feeling a bit pants. Sore throat and pounding head. No chance am I going to work for a day and a half feeling like that.

Today I have tidied. House beginning to look good again. Taken long enough ;)
