Work made a cockup with my money this month, missing somehow 9hrs of overtime. Not a massive amount of money I agree, but enough to screw me over quite significantly. They said they'd do another pay run on the 15th, only to find today no money in the bank.

Odd that. Apparently they screwed up again. We switched between being told there would be a cheque in our hands by the end of the day, and a payment direct to the bank. At the end of the day, no cheque and no payslip.

I'm going in to work tomorrow (on my day off) to rant at someone about this. Ludicrous indeed. What a mickey mouse company I work for these days. Lordie I need a new job.

Speaking of which - I've had no advance on 2 applications with Vodafone which I am finding very frustrating. They're still showing as "under consideration" on vstaff.co.uk - that's been since the 23rd Feb. I'm not being impatient, am I? I'm steadily getting more and more excited about the assessment with NATS next month but at the same time not trying to build it up too much.

I got the job spec from Amanda at Project People today for the position with 3, or yesterday, or something. It's a bit well, maybe a little bit too over the top for me - they're asking for experience with intelligent networking and SS7 (a signalling protocol used on various telecoms networks) which I don't have directly. I have experience of the end products (IN is involved in prepay mobiles, voicemail, various bits and SS7 is involved in every single call made) but not with direct use of these things.

I've asked her to put me forward anyhow, as training is a possibility if I can put myself across properly - and you never know who else is being put forward. The biggest thing - it would be progression where that impossible in my current role. I've still got the things happening with NATS and Vodafone so at least I'm not sticking my eggs into one basket.
