I don't understand how, but it's vanished. I need to use my compact flash memory card for the first time in months and can I find the damn thing? Can I heck. I know where it was until I tidied up a while back. It was on the chair over there *points*. You know... the one covered in clutter that you keep on meaning to put away but never get around to?

It's no longer there, and appears to be in none of the normal bags or nooks or crannies I would put put something like that. It's frustrating. I just don't know where it's gone. It can't have just vanished!

Had a good weekend with Jane again. Took Saturday off as Holiday so we went and did stuff of the non-exciting variety. Went to dinner on Saturday evening - we couldn't decide what we wanted to ended up at Frankie and Benny's. We had a long wait and paid a fortune for two drinks at the bar while we waited. My food was fantastic - tasty, exactly as described on the menu, a good size. Jane's however was VERY disappointing.

She ordered the "New York Chicken", which was described as "Chicken breast, bacon and monteroy cheese served with a choice of fries, baked potato or herby potatoes, and coleslaw". Where do we start to complain? The potatoes - Jane wanted Herby potatoes as she's trying to be good with food. The term herby potatoes inplied to us that it was mash or boiled potatoes with herbs - not deep fried potato pieces. The chicken breast was tiny, there was no coleslaw but this had been replaced with onion rings.

Apparently it all tasted OK, but it didn't look good, wasn't filling, and didn't come as advertised.

We wanted to complain so waited until the waitress came over to ask how everything was. It never happened. She came over and asked if we were finished, took our things away and brought over the bill, all with minimal eye contact and as little conversation as possible. Yes I know if we were really determined we could have made our point... We looked for a comment box - nothing.

We have however taken a note of their head office address and will be writing to them to point out our complaints. Something that doing all this MSing lately has taught me is looking at how things should be with a critical eye, rather than just going along.
