I have my NI Certificate of Exemption, huzzah. No fines, no problems.

I also received Constantine in the post from Play.com which I may sit and watch in the garden with a couple of beers later on.

Now I have 5 days off and I plan on doing very little for the rest of today, spending tomorrow doing laundry, packing and cleaning, and Monday being a blue-arsed-fly.

In response to my email stating that I would move my account to another provider because of the previously mentioned banking problems, I got this response:

I can confirm that we have received your request. Unfortunately i cannot action this at the moment as the email you sent was not secure. Please send us your request via a secure email with your request. Additionally you can send us your name and post code so that we can access your account details.

No attempt to address the root cause, no attempt to provide any form of customer service, satisfaction or even delight.

I have decided that I am going to take a trip through my musical collection, and listen to at least one track on every album and single I have stored here. It may take me some time, but I haven't listened to some of this stuff in a long time.

This is inspired partly by remembering [livejournal.com profile] cynnerth did something vaguely similar a while back, but also from me making tapes to go in the car with me when I'm going to be driving. It's been a long time since I did something like this, and I'd forgotten some of the great music I have here!

Tonight I've had Catatonia - Strange Glue, Portishead - Glory Box, the 5-6-7-8s - Whoo Hoo, James Blunt - No Glory and more. I'm looking forward to some of it more than other bits. Reaching the Orbital section will be fun, and the Dave Matthews Band section will be a trip down Memory Lane. The singles will be the best bit though, with some music in there over 15yrs old, probably not listened to in 5.

Unfortunately I'm not very good at taking pics of myself. Especially with this dodgy camera held together partially with sellotape :) Maybe I'm just stalling for time and hoping that I won't post this picture? I don't come across particularly well. Especially with the hair (I'm getting it cut tomorrow!) in the state it is.

I'm not wearing a tie, 'cuz I couldn't be arsed to go back upstairs and find one :)

Laugh. I won't even consider posting the other ones which came out appalingly bad. I'm just waiting for some MMS to be delivered which should have some other pictures to use, hopefully.

[edit: Who forgot that he turned his comp off last night? Link won't work as is now refusing to turn back on.]

[edit 2: Seems like I developed a duff memory stick. Either that, or it just didn't like it and started working when I took it out. Weird.]

An entire evening of QI on UKTV G2. I know it's hardly meaningful telly. I know it's hardly educational, despite it's "highbrow" appeal it's not big and it's not clever. But it's the best thing that's on, and is really funny at times!
