I want to find a HDD (preferably with DVD) recorder that doesn't have Freeview. I don't have an aerial socket anywhere near my TV, it's all Sky-ified, so anything to do with telly comes through the digibox. Freeview would be a waste of money.

I might end up biting the bullet, though, and buying one with Freeview just because it seems to be "the way to go". I'm planning on haggling tomorrow in various electronics stores. I might try Dixons, Comet et al., and see what bargains I can get by offering to take up their insurance, and then cancel the insurance asap. Tomorrow, that is. I've got to go to Cortonwood for a job anyhow, so thought I'd pop into Asda Living and see what they have - their prices are generally among the lowest but not for the best kit.

I'm sleepy. What's the betting I go to bed and lay there for 2 hours again, just like every other night for the past week?

Same thing as before. Loss of power, shaking gearstick at idle, phutting noise from exhaust. Suspect ignition coil again, all four of which were replaced previously. Have called mechanic who did work, unfortunately they don't have any coils in stock, so they've had to order one. Because it's Friday, they won't be delivered until Monday sometime during the day.

This leaves me without a properly functioning car until Monday evening. Damnit. I'm completely unhappy with this. It also leaves me with no confidence in driving 400 miles up to Scotland in 2 weeks. I know that it's worked fine for ages and it's probably just one dodgy piece of kit, but still. You have to have confidence in your equipment, right?
