I have an LG RH7500. It's one of these (link). Bought from Currys the other day. Seemes to do everything I expected - records on a 80Gb hard disk, records to every format of DVD known to, or cared about by me, fits in reasonably well with the sky box. The biggest issue is that now my automatic 4:3 / 16:9 switching that they Sky box normally does, doesn't work, and needs to be done manually.

I like it. The UI's a little slow, perhaps. Takes it a few seconds at times to respond to a keypress on the remote, but once used to it, it works very well. Timeslip is available and very useful. Timed recordings are neat - I wish there was some way to integrate it better with the Sky box but that's just wishful thinking :)

It was a tossup between this one, and a Lite-On which was about £40 cheaper but was ugly as sin. This isn't exactly pretty, but the other was grim.

I've just been reading lots of reviews on the products I hummed and hawwed over, and out of them all, this one has the most positive reviews around. Even a firmware update available. It won't affect my usage of it, probably, but if you're going to do these things you may as well do it properly, eh? :)

I started doing my paperwork about 2hours ago. I didn't realise it would take so long. I've been piling it up in the corner over there for about 3 months now, as evidenced by the 3 months worth of payslips which I've just sorted out by company, the 3 months worth of bills which are all paid, and everything else.

I'm not even tired, that's what bugs me. Not at all. I went to bed just after midnight and lay there for an hour or so before giving up and coming downstairs. You can guarantee now that about 5am, it'll be bedtime. Lucky I'm not in work until 11 today and I took on the NOP lottery jobs so that I could reschedule them for later if needed, so if needs be there is naptime available.

This weekend was Janetime. She came up Friday, we drank wine. Saturday we went shopping for geek toys, I made enchiladas and cringed at the horrible ice dancing show, then went out to the cinema where we saw Underworld: Evolution, and then Walk the Line. Underworld was visually stunning, with a half-decent storyline and I enjoyed it. Walk the Line was a good film too, over 2 hours long and starting at 11:20 probably a bad idea. I'm guessing that the storyline is very similar for a number of artists, as the basic story seems to be the same as for Ray...

Sunday... I go to work, Jane goes home :(
Must move house...
