As I'm absolutely incoherent to myself.
Meeting at work, with guys from "Group TSG" who deal with the validation and testing of new software, also deal mainly with corporate clients rather than installers. Went well, felt I learnt a bit from it. This is good indeed. Made a couple of points which seemed to go over well. Technique of listening closely until a point needs making and there's a quiet spell seems to work well, as some people end up concentrating so hard on talking they miss what's being said. Obviously won't work if there's not a quiet spell ;)
I'm currently on my own taking calls. It's alright. I'm pretty good on any of the new products but the older ones I'm going to take my time over. There's so many of them and most of them are just ridiculously old or outmoded. The DVST, for example, which works exclusively on ISDN lines. The simplex units which record to video still (how quaint) - we still get calls on them despite having nothing but the user manual to help with.
Bought new printer on weekend. My old one was a parallel printer and when my PC died I was left without a parallel port :( Got a cheap HP All-In-One (scanner, photocopier & printer) from PC World. Considering it was the same price as their cheapest printer, I ain't complaining! And I know that you can get cheap cartridges.
Next weekend is going to be grand. Bank holiday again... I so joined this company at the right time! I seem to have had more days off than I ever did with T-Mobile ;) Or maybe it just feels less like a prison sentence? We have Sing-a-Long Rocky Horror on Friday. *looks scared*
Got my deposit back from Jubb & Co - in full! I was slightly surprised as I thought they might charge me for the filling the small holes in the wall around the door where I clipped a cable. My parents, the yummy scrummy people they are told me to keep it. So that will go into a special account and be forgotten about. Well... either that or I'll finally pay off one of my accounts and close it. Not sure which is the best option yet.
Been writing for far too long now. Bed. Absolutely gone.
