For a start, why do they all work (seemingly) 10-4? Why are there no letting agencies open when most other people aren't working? Instead I pick my time carefully so as it's quiet, yet always feel guilty for calling them on work time.
Why do they never call back when you want them to? Chase them and chase them and chase them, offering them a potential sale - NO - chasing them to give them a potential new client and more income - and yet they seem to ignore you.
They are designed to screw as much money out of their clients (landlords and tenants) as easily as possible. One agency is suggesting paying a £150 application fee (non-refundable) at which I laughed! That's a ludicrous figure.
Try to make an appointment to view a property on a Saturday afternoon. I dare you. I double-dare you.
In short, they're all arses.
(I understand that many of the above arguments can equally be applied to solicitors...)
