While everybody else is back to work, I booked the rest of the holiday week off so I'm relaxing and chilling and clearing up the Christmas mess. Slowly, of course. I still haven't sorted out the sofa where I mega-flumped on it the other week (after my car went belly-up briefly), which needs doing but it needs doing at a time where it can be clamped and can also be not sat-on, which is harder than you'd imagine when you have as few seats as we do!
It kinda cracked, somewhere, though it still appears stable and unlikely to fall over at any moment. Being an Ikea sofa there's not much to it, but I think I know where it went and I have the appropriate glue ready. Despite them advertising it as being able to be jumped on repeatedly by your kids, I guess I'm slightly heavier :)
Tomorrow I shall remove the flishy-flashy lights from the front garden and move them to the back, because I like them. I also like the inside not-so-flishy-flashy lights but Jane looked at me like I was mad when I suggested leaving them around inside somewhere. Having tidied up properly in the kitchen (including all the paperwork that's been building up for the past 2 months, we REALLY need an in-tray) tomorrow shall be the living room including sorting out the CDs/DVDs, the clothes languishing in the corner and then doing the bedroom. Ho hum, too much work for my liking.
In our veggie box this week we got some Jerusalem Artichokes. I've never used the things before so am relying on the Internet (including Delia on-line) to tell me what to do with them. Apparently they're potatoey in cooking terms, can be boiled, mashed, roasted, sautéd and so on. Looking forward to using those.
