• 17:13 Chester was surprisingly quiet at 11am today, thought it would be stupidly busy. #

As you may have guessed from my recent prolific Tweets, I've been off work the past week with a fluey sickness of some description combined with a chesty cough and possible laryngitis. It's not been a good week really. The worst thing for me has been that I've not been able to practice anything singing-wise. I've been playing the tunes on the organ but being able to play a middle C->top D is easy, being able to pitch it isn't necessarily that easy!

This weekend I have felt a lot better all round, and today we went to see one of Jane's friends who only lives on the other side of Chester that she never sees (*wags finger*). I cooked a roast dinner and I must say it was very nice indeed. The sweet potato mash, roast parsnips and roast carrots cooked with syrup offset the savory stuff rather well.

Christmas is sneaking up on me very quickly, I started preparing for it way back in October and then promptly forgot all about it. It's happening on Thursday, right? Jane's sorted out most of the presents for people, because well frankly she knows more people than me ;) My parents are getting a gift membership to the Borneo Orangutan Fund or whatever they call themselves, and they're the only people I buy for regularly.

Jane's getting... ahhh yes. Jane's getting something cool that she wants :) I promise it! She's also getting something that she's not getting on Christmas day because I didn't expect a framing shop to be so busy at this time of year! The picture of Daleks on the walls that she got when she left Cheshire (back in December 2007) is getting framed at last!

We're going to Avril & Graham's (Jane's parents' friends) for Christmas day. On Boxing Day we start traveling up north, with a stop overnight in Edinburgh. New year's eve will be spent in Dufftown with ruthytoothy and albatros, don't know if anyone else is expected while we're there.

At present, we're due back in work on the 2nd which I'm not too impressed with as it's a Friday. Wouldn't be so bad if it were any other workday. So that'll mean we're driving back on New Year's Day. Booooooo!

I don't recall if I mentioned here, that I didn't get that 2nd interview at Carphone Warehouse. I think I am glad because I really don't think I would have taken the job as the location was all wrong. It's still a little disappointing.
