I've been thinking about a post for the last few days that might never happen, because of my laziness and forgetfulness. The post I'm thinking of is to do with the way we (or more specifically "I") use the internet.
This has been brought on by me setting up my spod-station again. In the back room with the second monitor, proper keyboard and mouse, printer and other useful stuff actually usable rather than a nuisance to use. This has left me without a PC while watching TV. But handily, I have my T-Mobile G1 (smart-phone).
I now think that I do a good 50% of my non-work internet use from my phone! Everywhere I have mobile phone coverage, I have an internet connection. Admittedly I tend mostly to use Twitter, Facebook and other sites that are either read-only or require short updates - typing on the small keyboard is still not easy - but the way I use the internet has changed radically from even a year ago.
Now that Google have introduced an update to Google Maps for Android which (in the US at least) which does location-based (can show you coupons based on stores you're near), I can only see my proportion of mobile internet usage increasing.
