After I wrote that last post, I decided to get clever and delete my NTFS partition, and reformat it as FAT32 for read/write compatibility with both OS. Only when I go to reboot after using FDisk to delete the partition, Grub fails to boot into the nice fancy and pretty menu it normally does. Fails utterly. Boots me into some mode I looked at and went "Whaaaaa"?
So, much fiddling, rebooting, "fdisk /mbr"'ing (so that I could at least get windows working), booting with install disks, and reading web pages on "Just how the fuck does Grub work anyhow?" (or maybe "Why Grub, I know how LiLo works Damnit!" is more appropriate), I beat it into submission. Beat it with big pointy sticks. And knowledge.
This is why I like Linux lots. You learn lots by breaking things and being stubborn enough to not want to reinstall and go through all that tedious setting up again :)
Yay.
Though I was going to bed over 45 minutes ago. Yes, Alexis. I was. Then I found what I needed to fix my compie, and could wait no longer.
Oh, everyone with any version of RealPlayer and a half-decent web connection should listen to this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/rpms/just.rpm
Just a Minute on BBC Radio 4. The rules are simple. Talk on a subject for a minute, without hesitation, repetition or deviation. Subjects: Queueing, Eggs, "How to Score" :)) *wheeee*
