Yesterday when I was driving back from my parents' place, somewhere near Bogston (maybe nearer Cartsdyke) train station (I think, not that it matters) I spotted this advert for the Labour election campaign, which shows a map of the British isles with Scotland ripped off the mainland, seperated, and the words "What then" written next to it.

I really like this poster. Very simple, very powerful, very important. Raises the right questions for the right reasons. I am all for Scottish devolution, assuming that the Scottish parliament feel they can guide us through, and they feel that we can make it as an independent country. And I am not sure that Scotland - on it's own - can make it.

What really surprised me today when I drove back from kite-flying (a whole other story!), I notice it had been graffiti'd. Not in the normal way with a big bushy moustache or something stupid - someone has spray-painted the words "Self-respect" under the "What then?"

*thinks*

Well.....
