I upgraded my server to the Linux 2.6.9 kernel yesterday. This has worked overall without a hitch, however the display doesn't work properly - it looks kinda mashed up. This isn't a major issue as I don't actually need to use the display for anything - I do everything remotely. Whether the new kernel will change anything or not, I don't know.

Oh, and rchotplug fails on boot, but I don't think I use hotplug (USB/PCMCIA) on the server for anything anyhow.

At least it works on the server - I couldn't get 2.6 kernels to run on the laptop - ended up doing a reinstall from FTP of another SuSE version (9.1 instead of 8.2). I think I need to investigate the software versions installed more closely if I try it again, 'cuz 2.6 kernels have some new requirements.

I've been geeking with Phex of late - phex is a Java based front end to the gnutella network - it's rather good :) Better than mutella - but both have their relative merits. Mutella is very simple, but doesn't do multi-homed downloads properly.

Found out whilst playing briefly with new YaST in SuSE 9.1 that they have a front end for editing DNS zones in it - I wanna play :) Hope it does reverse DNS zones - 'cuz these are a pain in the bum.
