I'm exhausted. I thought these ten-hour shifts would work out well, but so far they've been an utter disaster for me. The daytime shifts are OK, but the lates.
Well let's put it this way. I leave for work approximately 11:15am for a 11:55 start, get home approximately 10:35pm. Get to bed maybe midnight or one o'clock. Sleep for 8 or 9 hours, get up at 10, have just enough time to wake up then go back to work.
I have become so drained that by the third day I can't do my job properly. All I want to do is sleep. I don't know if there's any way around it. I can't go to sleep earlier because I need an hour or two to come down and relax after work. I can get up earlier but that's not going to help me feel less tired. My options seem to be: lump it, change shifts or get another job. I can't change shifts and do the same job because TDMS now only has one team in Dearne. I can change shifts if I move on to frontline again, which quite frankly seems like an acceptable thing - I'd have SO much less stress at work if I didn't have to worry about some of the things we do in TDMS.
So yes.
As a random aside. I was surprised to find this thread on a random websearch... I'd be interested to know if anyone at TMUK knows about this. Think I'll point it out to someone and see if they'd be interested in knowing that Mark might be giving info they'd rather see confidential.
