£190 later, I no longer have knocking on corners. I'm sure this is a good thing really, but it doesn't feel that way after I'd been so good at paying off my credit cards over the past few months.

Good weekend. Well, good Saturday night and Sunday daytime. Arrived at Jane's late, as they were at the Shrewsbury Flower Show for the fireworks. I was absolutely knackered so went to bed really quickly.

Sunday, Jane and I went to Chester Zoo. I'm always slightly ambivalent about zoos. I appreciate that they do good conservation work but there are some creatures which I feel should not be kept within zoos. It's simply not possible for any zoo ever to produce a habitat which comes close to the natural world of an elephant, for example.

On the other hand, I have absolutely no problem with smaller animals being kept, in good conditions. And that I believe Chester Zoo manages extraordinarily well. It's a nice place, interesting for me, and the kids that were there appeared to be entertained.

I've got some pics from my new cheap cam, but some of them are really poor. I've not yet managed to work everything out, and it took a while to find the correct brightness setting. I'm disappointed about the pic of Jane beside some flowers because it really was a lovely picture, but she's got her eyes shut :-(
