1) What was the first CD/Record/Album/Artist you ever bought and what
format was it in?
I suspect it was something really cheesy. I had really crap music taste
as a kid, trust me. This comes from the guy who owns Ant and Dec's
"Let's Get Ready to Rhumble" and "Mr Blobby".
2) How do you usually listen to music?
(iPod/Walkman/Stereo/Radio)
It really varies. I listen on the PC, on an iPod, on the radio, in the
car on tapes, CDs, tapes, vinyl. The majority is car-based.
3) What is your favorite genre of music and why?
I don't have a favourite "genre". There's good and bad music in all
styles. There's artists who transcend all styles and make anything
sound good, there's artists who destroy whatever they touch.
4) What is your opinion on music video shows and music televion?
Am I expected to trot out the line "Video killed the radio star"? I
hope so 'cuz that was my first thought. MTV is probably singlehandedly
responsible for the reduction in attention-span for the younger
generations. Most music videos are constructed of shots less than 5
seconds long and these are crimped together because most "artists" can't
perform for much longer.
5) Do you usually agree with who the winners of the Grammy Awards
are?
To a degree, I like awards. I think any awards that can showcase new
talent and bring them to the forefront of people's attention is a great
thing. As an example take Seth Lakeman, who to me was a complete
unknown before winning the Mercury Music Prize. He's now squarely in
the public's eye.
As to the actual winners and do I agree with who they are, how should
whether I agree or disagree with someone else's opinion be of any
importance?
