I went out to meet Lou, Laura, glo, whatever you wanna call her, in Glasgow. Turned up at the Solid Rock at 8, only to get an SMS saying "won't be there 'till 9". Grrr. Women! So I ended up going for a walk along the Clyde, just from Central Station to where the Waverly was docked, and back again. Actually was hoping Silk & Secrets might be open, but it was closed, bah.

Anyhow, she arrived, we had a drink, chatted, went for a pizza at Pizza Hut on the corner of Argyll & Union St, chatted, joked, was nice. Just... nice. We weren't there for any reason, and it was so relaxed. I'm almost disappointed in myself that I refused to go back to Luce's - if you read this hun, it's not because I hate you or anything, honest!

I saw tonight exactly what I hate about going out on a Saturday night. It's worst in the big cities, but you get it everywhere. The streets nearly dripping with alcohol fumes, people losing all sense of decency and common sense. Why? The little things... shouting across the streets to your mates, _f_ing and blinding - all very well during the day when maybe one person does it, but at night - everyone's at it. It's just something that gets under my skin when combined with the other "little things" that seems to pervade people and places on an average Saturday night, and make me want to crawl into a hole every week to avoid them.

Secondly - when did spitting become an acceptable form of "social expression"? Everybody's at it. If I have an excess of saliva in my mouth, I swallow it. I don't spit it out. Yet it seems like a large proportion of the population don't realise that you can do this when out on the streets. It irks me most when you see middle-aged men doing it (don't tend to see older women do it) because it makes you realise where the kids have picked it up from. It's unpleasant, and I seem to have missed the time in my life when it became normal to accept it.

I'm with you, mate. It's fun to go out but I hate having to wade through the attitudes...

My gawd, someone who doesn't think I'm a loon... most of the people I know actually enjoy being a part of the rabble!

I think the hermit's life is for me!

hehe.
I only spit when I'm brushing my teeth. Never any other time.
