By my last post, I've been working a little on my client. I'm starting to wonder what to do with it next. I mean it's not perfect by any means, but any new features I can think of adding won't be teaching me anything new, which was the purpose of starting it.
I'll think of something, am sure. I need to go out with my folks sometime soon and see if I can persuade them to buy me a decent Visual C++ (not for dummies, not for advanced users) book. Then I could try and get a bit done on a Windows client, muhahahaaaa!
(It's quite nice actually, developing LJ clients, because it gives a good taste of the various aspects - design, networking, string handling, using objects (if desired), file I/O, allsorts of stuff). And it's something I have an interest in, which means that I'll carry on with it.
Have I found my vocation in life?
bradfitz, employ me as a full time author, please?! *lol*

I bought C++ For Dummies a while back, and I've decided the same thing, it's horribly complicated. I think it's a combination of VC++ being complex, and the book being "C++ for Dummies who are willing to learn like sheep", and not ask any questions.
