Hmm. Don't recall seeing it mentioned anywhere - maybe I did, decided it was unimportant and ignored it :)

Oh well, you try to find something new on a system like this and... well. No chance.

lj support people annoy me.

half of them don't have a clue, they just don't have anything better to do with their time so post half-assed answers in a crusade to get more help points than anyone else.

i'm sure there are one or two (or possibly even three) who have actually READ some of the code (i.e. the perl), but the rest of them just cut and paste answers from one place to another...

*looks at you and scowls slightly*
I've been volunteering in LJ Support lately. Yes because I'm bored, and no I've not looked at the source. But you don't have to read the source to understand most support requests. Those ones are left to the guys who do know. (mart and lucretio and so on)

Ya know the thing is, that most answers are screened. For example - anything I post is screened and has to be approved by a moderator, in effect. SO even if I post 20 answers in a day, one might get through, depending on who got there first, who answered it best and so on.

PLUS - not all the moderators have the same rules. Some work differently to others, so it's luck of the draw what answer you get someday.

At the end of the day, however, most answers approved are correct. And copy/pasting answers is acceptable if it's right in any support forum. I appreciate that some answers may be "lame" - but if you want me to write overrides for your journal (not talking to you in particular) - you can fuck right off and figure it out yourself like 90% of the overriding lj population did - just being told more politely.
