I will be the proud owner of a Rover Metro Rio Grande 1.1, whoohoo. M Reg (1994), test drive was good enough to suggest perfect working order, engine seems OK and well... it's transport - yay!
Problem being now, that I am unsure as to whether I can afford to run a car and rent a house in Greenock, mainly because insurance is going to cost me around £60 a month, yuck. I could certainly do it if I were to buy - mortgage payments are a lot lower than rent in most cases. Anyhow, I'll see what happens over the next few months. Ya never know, I might get promoted tommorrow and be given a 50% pay rise :)
I don't care anyhow - I have a car, yay!

That is the best I can find, the Rover site is utter pants. It's basically a small car, small engine (1.1 litre), cheap and easy to maintain and run.

I always wondered what kind of cars they were...

The Metro has undergone a series of transformations in it's lifetime, so it's probably OLD Bill you recognise it from? My one's 1994...
