Music Catalogue Master is a little weird, but worth getting to know, I think. Needs the addition of some HTML report generation - you can print reports but not create a web page, which makes life difficult. Currently 178 Records in the catalogue - 167 Albums and 11 Singles. More to go - mainly singles now. Gawd this is hard and boring work :)

After waking up at 0930 and blearily staring at the alarm clock, trying to figure out how the hell to turn it off, I went back to sleep until 1030, oops. I've now been to the opticians, where my eyes were probed with lenses and letters and figures and numbers until they went red and watery.

Turns out I am long sighted. This means I shall require glasses when reading or doing close-range work. It's not a bad presciption at all, but it would explain an awful lot - I always assumed that the headaches I got were from not drinking enough (bad habit of mine, often don't drink anything from when I get up to late afternoon) but eye-strain would explain some of it.

So, I chose my "on the NHS" frames and should have glasses within a couple of days. Lucky me. I really should go to the dentist while I'm signed on, seeing as I'll get it for free and all.

Now to call up HSBC and beg for a job!

Decided that I really like Perl. It's so damned easy to "knock up a quick one". I mentioned the other day that Music Catalogue Master was incapable of making HTML reports, so I made up a quick script to convert the CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file into HTML. Dead easy.

Anyhow - without any further ado - take a peek at my current list of CDs (some are missing due to the fact that I haven't got them in the database yet) at:

Phil is currently curious as to why posts he's making from his client that should be private, aren't private at all... sorry to take up your time and space with me trying to make my client able to post ampersands :)

Phil was an idiot. He spent a lot of time researching and implementing a method that would turn all ampersands ("&") within his journal entries into code - so that they wouldn't interfere with the ampersands used within the string sent to the server.
