I have been paying bills. Got paid today, a nice hefty paycheque for all this overtime done over Christmas. Paying off everything I can now. Throwing money at everything. I mean throwing. Went to check the balance on the online banking (through which I am paying stuff), only to find the balance a good £300 less than I expected. Shit myself, thinking "That money was for paying my rent!", and only calmed down enough after checking the transaction sheet and finding that because my rent standing order would normally be paid on a weekend, it's showing as gone out today instead.

All I have left to sort out, is insurance, and loan payment. Everything else is piddling. Unfortunately, insurance is not piddling. Parents were going to start paying insurance in may, when it renewed, but think have talked them into paying it now. This would be a good thing.

OK, so that's everything paid up front by BACS transfer, let's hope that all these companies are smart enough to recognise that I have paid their bills, and not to try taking standing orders or direct debits. If they do, I won't be happy.

Oh, I also have Dirk Gently on MP3. Muhahahahaaaaa. Only 4 of 8 so far, but damn it's good. Read by the author. I love it.

I didn't get it. Competency Based questions indeed. "Give me an example of......". "Tell me about a time when you....". I hate the things, and that's where I stumbled badly. They said that everything else was fine. Technical ability, drive, willingness to commit, but I couldn't give specific examples. *sighs*

Oh well. There's going to be more chances. More chances very soon, apparently. Disappointed as all hell but what's the use in worrying about it? Learn from it. Get back into it.

I remember now why I have up using netscape in the past...

It sucks. Big style. Tell it to use font x and it goes ahead and uses font y anyhow, because it wants to. Then on the next page it decides to flip to font z, then you hit "back" and it uses font x...

I'm not fan of Opera (IE all the way baby - it may be MS, but it works damn well), but Opera is what I have, and opera is the only thing that I have a hope in hell of using without smashing this thing to pieces.

In case you couldn't guess, I have linux installed at last. Downloading KDE now, WindowMaker's just not my thing. Minimalism can only go so far :) Might try out another Window Manager or two if I get the time to play, and figure up how to turn the font size UP on this thing. I'm gonna die from eye strain *G*
