Our garden is big.
Our garden looked like a jungle.
Our garden used to be tended to by a gardener, but the person who used to arrange all that moved out earlier this year.
Our garden is not straight, flat, square, rectangular or any of those other nice and easy to tend shapes.
Our garden is hilly, rocky, a very weird mixture of shapes and not very easy to mow.

Our garden is now tidier than it was. Excluding the edges (my parents' lawnmower and edges don't mix) and that bit around the middle where the plant pots have been sitting and festering all winter/spring. I tried to move them but they're quite grotty and I don't have any gloves.

It took just over an hour to do it. Someone had best notice. Apart from me.

Now I am absolutely starving, and am heading to Aulds, which is just downstairs. Or maybe the Wetherspoons. I haven't been to there for lunch in ages. I'm sure there's plenty places that do it better, but their beer is cheap!

Do you realise, that this is STILL ongoing?
Thanks to some very threatening letters from Scottish Power I really have had no choice but to pay them some of my balance. ARGH! And the lass had the nerve to tell me that there would be another bill sent to me on the 10th June! WTF? I understand what they're saying, that they're my suppliers, but for Pete's sake.

I've decided to end the whole thing, and have admitted defeat. I've written once again to Powergen and asked them to close my account with them. I have cancelled the direct debit and demanded repayment in full of all monies paid to them. It's the only way I'm going to get out of paying twice.

*sighs*

Well, hopefully that means £114 back in my pocket rather than in Powergen's. Let's see how long they can drag their feet over this. I don't want to have to get OF whatever they are... http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/ofgem/index.jsp) involved. I know from personal experience what a pain in the arse the regulators can be.

Update: I've put in a complaint with Energywatch (http://www.energywatch.org.uk/) who are apparently the people to trust? News to me!

I had seen that HMV were selling Final Fantasy VIII on their website for £12-13, and remembered many happy hours spent playing it at Luce's when she had her Playstation. I had to buy it. It came today and well......

My current tally is 8hrs. And that is after walking into town, mowing the lawn, hoovering again, doing the washing up, sending emails to both Energywatch and Powergen, and catching up on my friends page. Oh, and add to that - downloading as much Tom Lehrer as I can get my hands on.

Eight hours? In one day? That's just scary.

Tom Lehrer - he's a "political satirist musician" I guess. I first heard some of his stuff on a Radio 4 documentary (namely "New Math", "the Elements Song" and "Vatican Rag"), and when I was down in Bolton, John V reminded me of his existence and his name.
Music:: Tom Lehrer - Cows with Guns
