Just a little unreliable, I need to figure out why DHCP on the laptop occasionally forgets it's set up and reverts back to a 169.254.xxx.xxx IP instead of the 192.168.0.3 it should have.

In other non-geeky news, well... nothing.
I spent most of today writing email to kundrun, ruthytoothy and pipsytip. I was going to finish off my application form but I'm afraid it fell by the wayside. I've got another 4 days before it needs to be sent off. I'll do it, I promise you. I want this as much as anyone. In fact, probably more so.

I did some washing up, this is about the first washing up I have done in a week. Before anyone says "ewww", I have barely used anything over the past week. Eaten out and had pizza and at work and haven't cooked at all. I just haven't been in the mood, ya know.
And I hoovered.
And washing, only a half-load of drying to do now.
And I emptied various bins. Bags by the door, waiting to be taken out tomorrow morning.
Tried to get a day off tomorrow but no availability.
Haven't done any overtime for about 2 weeks now. Really should. I promised myself I would do a minimum of 10hrs a month.
Watching Red Dwarf I on DVD again. I can't wait for III to come out. Nearly bought Donnie Darko at Safeway today. My shopping trolley was full of shite anyhow, what's a little bit more?

I feel bad because I feel I might be getting hopes up when I shouldn't be. I'm trying to keep a level head, my feet on the ground. But I've been waiting a while for a bunch of good news, some change, a push in the right direction and for two things to happen at once pushing me in that direction, it's hard to resist.

Backshift tomorrow. And the day after. And after. Weekend off. Anyone not busy and want a Phil to come invade? Mail me. Ehhhhh.

I think, I need to check my diary, that after the backshift we have 2 weeks of earlies. nope, I was wrong. That must be later in the month. 30th June -> 6th July lates, 9th July -> 20th July earlies, 23rd -> 25th lates. Argle. Very happy I'm on holiday for a large percentage of that.

I need a visit to HMV with someone else's credit card :)
I've discovered the solution to the mystery of the damn idiots who have been calling me and not leaving a message on my answering machine - I'm coming home after work most days and finding a minimum of 4 blank (dead tone) messages. All the time. And not once has there been a message left. This has been going on for the last 2 or three weeks. Really annoyed me (Caroline: hence my weird message on the answering machine).

It was HFC bank. The guys who provided the money for the laptop. Trying to sell me something else. Grrr. You say no and they won't take it. Arses.

It's raining.
And apparently, according to research done by myself for ruthytoothy today, is consistently wetter in the West of Scotland than the NorthWest of England. This disappointed me, as I've lost a bargaining chip in the battle to make people move here :)
