So, cars.
I was driving home from work last night and I found that the brake warning light was flashing. I just assumed I had the handbrake pulled up ever so slightly, so fiddled with it and the flashing didn't stop. When I broke hard the light shone brighter. CRAP!
Well, I was wanting to go to Helensburgh this morning anyhow. I wanted to go and fit the front wiper relay that the garage had forgotten to put back in, bunch of eejits. So after I'd done that (ten minute job, take off negative battery lead, take out fusebox, put in relay, put back fusebox and try to remember to put back on negative battery connection *G*), drove the car to Kwik Fit.
An hour later, comes the call. £200 to sort out front brake shoes, rear brake pads and cracked brake housing. Pants. I'd banked on it taking less than an hour to fit new brake shoes so when he said it would take all afternoon I had to rethink. My mum very kindly let me borrow her car to drive to work and she's using dad's as he's away this week. As an early birthday present my folks have paid for the repairs. Phew.
It's really weird driving my dad's car - it's so big and powerful (and manly!) ;) I understand why people like bigger cars now *smiles* So, tomorrow I need to head off early and take my dad's car back, pick up my (hopefully) fixed one.
We shall see.
I hate cars.
