Sunday, wander down the road, through Portobello, round the streets, had a drink (shocking prices for a round of 3 drinks!), home, eat, sleep. Nothing exciting. Catch up with the family and so on.

Monday, headed off to Queensway so I could visit the computer market there for dad. I'd set off from home at 9, was there by 20 past and the place doesn't open until gone 11. Ack. I wandered down Queensway through Whiteleys (which is an amazing building, oh yes) - at which point I got a phone call from an unknown number. I assumed it was Jane calling - but nope - Nicky from T-Mobile recruitment. They wanted me to go to an interview, hurrah. But you all know about this :)

I headed off back to the parentals, met mum walking up through the market, where we had coffee and celebrated :) Monday afternoon was spent walking. And walk we did - from beyond Notting Hill Gate tube station to the V&A - I haven't done that kind of distance in donkeys! The V&A is amazing and I will have to go back. The cafe does sandwiches to die for ;)

I went out to Canary Warf on Monday evening to see Deirdre, whom I have known for years and years - went to stay with her out in New Jersey when I was out in the states a couple of times. She's had a tough time of it, poor dear. She took me out to a Thai restaraunt slightly to the north of the Citibank offices, and I had the best oriental meal I've had - uhhm... ever?

Home, sleep.

Tuesday... not much until the evening when I dragged mum out to the Divine Comedy concert. We couldn't be arsed to cook so walked down to Kensington Road (I think?) where we ran into Wagamma's - it was the first time either her or I had been there and we loved it, and a bottle of wine (*cough*).

The concert... well. It was the Divine Comedy playing with the Millennium Ensemble at the Albert Hall. The first half of the concert had the most god awful sound in the world. We were in the gods and all we got was echoey bass and treble - I guess someone hadn't set up the sound properly. I guess they got lots and lots of complaints about it because in the second half it was all SO much better. You could actually hear the music rather than individual instruments ;)

(Sadly enough, I spent most of the first half thinking that they should have employed [livejournal.com profile] suzylou *g*)

It was a good show - but compared to seeing them at the Lowry, this show didn't come close. I guess the Quays Theatre is so small and intimate you can't compare it to the massive scale of the Albert Hall. I did like the way they started the show - the ensemble played a medley of DC songs in various stylees. A good way to build up the tension :)

Wednesday to come.

Well, I'm having trouble finding a book close by with 23 pages ;)

The morning I was taken to Tom's cafe for breakfast/brunch. I had a avocado omlette :) Yummy. I'm shocked to find out that breakfast can cost so damn much - for 2 breakfasts, a pot of tea for two - £15!? *faints*

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, off to Hatfield we go.
Getting there's incredibly easy at least. A £7 train fare and 25 minutes. Ended up getting the bus to the business park 'cuz it's so easy, if I didn't have my bags with me I would have walked. Wandered around the campus a while looking for a "main reception" sign or something, hah! Nope. Nothing at all to make it obvious where a visitor should go, maybe it's different if you go by car. The place is very imposing. 4 buildings worth of T-Mobile! I didn't know that they employed that many people ;)

Guessed, told someone who I was and who I was there to see, and eventually Oswald found me. Had the interview, which went for about 2hrs, and I feel went OK, got a taxi back to the station.

Nearly had a heart attack when I was told how much it would cost to get back to Leeds. Bear in mind I paid £19 for a return to Kings Cross. I paid £70 to get back, for a single. I think I may have exclaimed "how much!!???" to the ticket lady... I hope T-M will pay this through expenses.

And I got home.
Sleepy.
Tired.
Sore.
But home.
