The morning I was taken to Tom's cafe for breakfast/brunch. I had a avocado omlette :) Yummy. I'm shocked to find out that breakfast can cost so damn much - for 2 breakfasts, a pot of tea for two - £15!? *faints*

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, off to Hatfield we go.
Getting there's incredibly easy at least. A £7 train fare and 25 minutes. Ended up getting the bus to the business park 'cuz it's so easy, if I didn't have my bags with me I would have walked. Wandered around the campus a while looking for a "main reception" sign or something, hah! Nope. Nothing at all to make it obvious where a visitor should go, maybe it's different if you go by car. The place is very imposing. 4 buildings worth of T-Mobile! I didn't know that they employed that many people ;)

Guessed, told someone who I was and who I was there to see, and eventually Oswald found me. Had the interview, which went for about 2hrs, and I feel went OK, got a taxi back to the station.

Nearly had a heart attack when I was told how much it would cost to get back to Leeds. Bear in mind I paid £19 for a return to Kings Cross. I paid £70 to get back, for a single. I think I may have exclaimed "how much!!???" to the ticket lady... I hope T-M will pay this through expenses.

And I got home.
Sleepy.
Tired.
Sore.
But home.

If you think £15 for two breakfasts is bad, never, ever have breakfast on a GNER train...

*laughs* Is it really scary? I was scared enough by spending nearly a fiver on a can of coke and a sandwich!

Things aren't like that up here in Yorkshire - life is cheaper :)

OK, why was it so much to go back.
I'm fairly good with UK geography, but you've lost me here.

That's the thing. I don't know. I guess it's just they way that the ticketing system works. The original ticket I had was a super-dooper-bought-in-advance one, the one I had to buy on the way back was bought on the day.

It's still ridiculous though. I was on exactly the same route...

It is, but similar thing shappen here with last minute plane tickets--though I ♥ EasyJet. Prague to Madrid via Luton and Stansted-23 Pounds, bought day before.

Hope the interview went well!

Food was a lot more expensive on your side of the pond, but then when I did some cheap B & B's, I'd load up on a full Scottish breakfast and not get hungry until later at night. Rocket fuel.

Yeah, getting a good brekkie and not eating anything else all day is the way to go :) But prices in London are just ridiculously expensive compared to the prices anywhere else in the known universe!
