When you go to sleep at 9pm. Or at least it is with me.

I woke up at about midnight, and have been up since. I listened to audio books, I read, I made a warm drink, I laid in silence, I took a bath. I still couldn't sleep.

In the end I gave in, and watched "Preaching to the Perverted" at last. I love that film. It's ending is possibly a little cheesy and sudden, but the idea that someone - once exposed to the scene - can start to understand and appreciate it, even if they don't want to be actively involved... I think it's a great message.

What is there to do in South Yorkshire at 4 in the morning? Any ideas? Might go shopping - I do need some milk :)

What is the oldest object in the room with you?
My A-Level project disks. I've got absolutely no use for them because I don't have a floppy drive on this laptop, but I have a load of 3.5" disks with my A-Level Computing work on it.

What is the newest?
Does paperwork count? I've got all my MSing paperwork in here. If not - my Preaching to the Perverted DVD.

What is your favorite object in the room with you?
The Balvenie Doublewood. Tasty.

What is the most valuable object?
In terms of money - the laptop, without any hesitation.

In personal terms... probably my box of memories. It's got loads of stuff in, including the railway timetable from Philadelphia station, tickets to the World Trade Centre observation deck from summer 2001, leaflets from various galleries and museums in New York, my train tickets to Montreal.

What is the ugliest object?
Do I count?
There's nothing fugly here. The pile of half-filled and used boxes is not that pleasant, I guess...

Phone calls from someone at Orbis Resourcing who I have dealt with before. They seem reasonable. They've got a job in Swinton (just down the road from where I currently work) and it's a junior helpdesk job. Paying less than I am on now. I've said to send my CV anyhow, may as well try to keep myself in practise with interviews and things, even if I do end up turning down the job if it's offered to me.

I can't believe I'd even contemplate turning down a job offer but I make good money here (salary + bonus + healthcare + double time bank holidays + triple time Christmas and New Year's Day + 25 days holiday + as much overtime as you can cram in if you want it + flexibility in being able to do "other" work as I do shifts! - it adds up) and makes it hard for the competition to make it worth my while sometimes!
