1. Are you named after anyone? If so, explain.
Not as far as I know.

2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance?
What children? Who's going to have my children and more to the point, why would they want to?

3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been?
Probably Phillipa, knowing my parents...

4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
Perhaps Brian. I don't think there are many unusual names that would suit me well.

5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/ your name constantly?
Always being called Bill, and my surname's a constant battle. It's really not difficult. 6 letters, all different, in a vaguely sensible order.

  1. When you were a child, what was your favorite game to play?
I don't remember, really. I do seem to remember playing Kerplunk and Downfall lots, and spent lots and lots of time around Bannachra on my bike. The joys of being an only child!
  2. What is your favorite game to play right now?
I don't really play many games. I used to love flight sims, but I haven't played one properly for years, since they became so 'realistic' that they sucked the fun out of them.
  3. Can you share a good story about playing with others or yourself?
    Not any really good ones.
  4. What do you do for play time fun now?
Play time now has a rather different meaning to what I was thinking of at the beginning of this...
  5. If you were able to invent a game, what would you call it?
    I have absolutely no idea.

Well that was a bust :)

Memage - can you name these songs that come from my MP3 collection on random. Honestly, they're not the 1st 20 - but about 1/3rd of the songs that were my true first 20 had no lyrics. Makes life rather dull for a lyrics game :)

  1. Sotto i pini del boschetto. Ei già il resto capirà.
(Beneath the pines in the copse)
  2. Ma per fortuna è una notte di luna, e qui la luna l'abbiamo vicina.
(But by our good fortune, it's a night lit by the moon, and up here the moon is our closest of neighbours.)
  3. I’m off like an aeroplane, I’m licking your postage stamp again.
  4. Well I think I hate you, isn't this fun?
  5. Every paper that you read, says tomorrow is your lucky day.
  6. But it's much too soon to leave this easy life. Pass me the spoon. Pass the analytical knife.
  7. Read 'em and weep, the dead man's hand again, I see it in your eyes, take one look and die.
  8. Screamin' 'thug till I die', before I passed out.
  9. You have to understand that when it comes to making music, we meshed the styles of five alive and intertwined and fused it.
  10. Can’t face a club they walk to a nearby pub, watch a couple of bands.
  11. He didn’t and he should’ve brought his lines in yesterday.
  12. The dry-erase board on your front door, it shows the world your personality at the university.
  13. When I was you and you were me, and we were very young. Together took us nearly there, the rest may not be sung.
  14. Sun has eyes, and sea is clear, a generic world is clean.
  15. It's more or less the things you fail to say in your way.
  16. Its all in your head you see.
    Not mine.
    I am fine.
    I'm alive.
    I've arrived.
  17. And look at me your mom squatting pissed in a tube hole at Tottenham Court
  18. Make my way to the refrigerator. One dry potato inside, no lie. Not even bread, jam
  19. It calls to me. To be where little cable cars.
  20. I tried so many times and that’s no lie, It seems to make you laugh each time I cry

What is the oldest object in the room with you?
My A-Level project disks. I've got absolutely no use for them because I don't have a floppy drive on this laptop, but I have a load of 3.5" disks with my A-Level Computing work on it.

What is the newest?
Does paperwork count? I've got all my MSing paperwork in here. If not - my Preaching to the Perverted DVD.

What is your favorite object in the room with you?
The Balvenie Doublewood. Tasty.

What is the most valuable object?
In terms of money - the laptop, without any hesitation.

In personal terms... probably my box of memories. It's got loads of stuff in, including the railway timetable from Philadelphia station, tickets to the World Trade Centre observation deck from summer 2001, leaflets from various galleries and museums in New York, my train tickets to Montreal.

What is the ugliest object?
Do I count?
There's nothing fugly here. The pile of half-filled and used boxes is not that pleasant, I guess...

You have a total of 36 friends
You requested to guess 36 entries.
1 was skipped due to invalid content (surprising?).
You made 35 guesses.
You got 33 correct.
Doing the math for you, that means you got 94% correct

Just goes to show, I actually do read all your journals. May not comment much, but I do!

  1. What is your favorite noise to hear?
The sea - every time. It roars.
  2. If you could live in any era of time, what would you choose and why?
Now is where I want to be. The early 20th century holds very little attraction for me, the dark ages, the middle ages - no. Whilst I think it would be fascinating for a short period, the lack of creature comforts would be horrible!
  3. You just found $50 while cleaning your house. Where do you decide to spend it?
Right now, it would go right into my bank account. I'm a little skinter than I'd hoped to be! Bloody car... MOT and tax...
  4. What magazines to you subscribe to/read on a normal basis?
None that regularly. I like to read PC Plus, Flight International, Computer Weekly, New Scientist but rarely do get round to it.
  5. If you could witness any event in history, but not change anything about it, what would you choose and why?
There are so many - being able to give a definitive answer on some of the world's most disputed events would be fantastic. I'd love to see Tiananmen Square, the shooting of JFK, the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, so many more.

She says: *grins* These are all easy ;o)

  1. Whats at the top of your list of things to do before 40?

  2. I don't yet have a list. The thing I want to achieve the most is to make a longer-term success of the relationship with [livejournal.com profile] pipsytip and to end up within a few metres of her, never mind a hundred miles.
  3. Would you like to be a girl for a day, and if so, why?

  4. Of course I would! I'd love to see things and experience things from the other side. I'm always one for wanting to experience things the same way as others... There's the changed attitudes of people towards me, there's the thing of finding for sure whether things you've heard or suspected to be true really are so. Not only the mundane (do people really hold doors open for women more than men? Would I get wolf-whistled going down the street?) but what about in bed! Could pick up some great tips :) How would it actually feel to feel people watching me walk down the street?
  5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

  6. If I could choose anywhere and be with the lass, it would be the west coast of Scotland. Northerly, maybe somewhere like Mallaig. Even that might be too remote, I think I could happily live in Fort Augustus. I considered abroad somewhere, but decided that there's too much choice and I could never decide ;)
  7. Favourite film ever?

  8. I've got so many... Lost in Translation, Bridge on the River Kwai, Bladerunner, Hero, 2001: A Space Oddysey, Sin City. I don't seriously think I could choose one favourite. The one I know better than any other is Lost in Translation, the one I've seen most often is 2001.
  9. Whats your favourite word in the English language?

  10. It has to be a choice between:
Moist. Such a filthy word in such an innocent guise!
Lugubrious. A sad word but somehow silly - (exaggeratedly or affectedly mournful)
    Effervescent. Bubbly :)

If you had all the money in the world and could choose to own anything, what you would get and why?
Right now? A DVD recorder :)
A new job.
Maybe a company to own and run so I could give myself a job.
A better, nicer house.

2. If you were to do something that scares you, what would it be?
Skydiving, hang gliding, parachuting, anything that involves falling from a high height. Heights scare the living daylights out of me.

3. What was your first pet?
I have only had one, and that was a goldfish won from a fair :)

4. What's the farthest you've traveled?
I've travelled to the US & the Canary Islands.

5. If you were a season, which one would you be and why?
Daft questions 'r' us, eh? I like those wintery cold, dry, sunny days where there's frost on the ground and in the trees, and the sun barely peeks over the horizon.

'The F Word' with Gordon Ramsey, to be precise. On for about 30 seconds, and her sister got a look-in too! All these famous people in my family, eh...

Tonight I have spent time doing my paperwork. The pile on top of the turntable was growing to the point where I felt in danger of being killed under an avalanche of receipts and old MSing reports whenever I sneezed. Now I'm organised and sorted. I just wish Gap didn't insist on XEs keeping paperwork for 12months. Twelve months? Why?
