I got the job.
Let me just say that again, because I've not said those words in nearly 4 years despite repeated attempts.

I. Got. The. Job.
I got the position with The Lifestyle Group, Gail called me up as I was lying awake and asked if I was still interested. At that point I knew. They've made a verbal offer, conditional on references. I've talked to Nadine and she's said they'll take any amount of notice. I need to visit Jubb and ask them what the deal is.

I'm terribly excited. Gail asked me how I felt, and I said "relieved". She sounded surprised! And today Jane's not got her mobile phone with her. Argh!

Is it April 1st?
Go on, guess who called me at 1330 today?
Guess what Joanne from Dedicated Micros said?
If you said "We'd like to offer you the position", then you were right! Collect £100.

So, I now have 2 job offers. One for Dedicated Micros as a "Network Technical Support Engineer" in Manchester/Warrington, and one for The Lifestyle Group as a "Desktop Support Analyst" in Crewe. The one for DM is £3k more than TLG, but will involve a move after 3 months.

I'm verging towards to DM. The job sounds more interesting and the pay is higher. I know a few posts back I expressed my concern about the company but... can I really judge based on 2 people and an hour of their time?

I'm dreading calling Gail.
