Is it April 1st?
Go on, guess who called me at 1330 today?
Guess what Joanne from Dedicated Micros said?
If you said "We'd like to offer you the position", then you were right! Collect £100.
So, I now have 2 job offers. One for Dedicated Micros as a "Network Technical Support Engineer" in Manchester/Warrington, and one for The Lifestyle Group as a "Desktop Support Analyst" in Crewe. The one for DM is £3k more than TLG, but will involve a move after 3 months.
I'm verging towards to DM. The job sounds more interesting and the pay is higher. I know a few posts back I expressed my concern about the company but... can I really judge based on 2 people and an hour of their time?
I'm dreading calling Gail.

Such a dilema but I hope you make the right decision.

Righto
BUT do not say no to Lifestyle too soon.
Only after you have the signed paperwork from DM.
If you have to play the waiting game them then do,
because you don't want to end up with NO JOB!!!
So get a move on whoever you want to go with and keep the other one as a backup until the deal is done.

Re: Righto
It's all groovy :)
I don't like the waiting game though!

Don't make a decision yet. Sleep on it. Talk to people. Do not call anyone from either company just yet (unless it is to get more information).

Done, I've not called anyone. I'm waiting until I get some stuff in writing from both people - fingers crossed it'll be here soon.

I'd be inclined to take the job that you'll like the most, rather than the most money. After all, the reason you're moving is dissatisfaction and "Doo ti di doo!" mentality of the place you're currently at, and the lack of individuality and respect for you. I think you'll grow better in an environment that allows room for manoeuvre, perhaps even somewhere that has a 'small company' mentality, and if either of the posts offer that, I think you'd personally do better long-term, both financially and by satisfaction.

It really is a tough choice. I believe that the 2nd one is the better in the long term, with chances to progress into other roles and even other companies within the same umbrella, whereas with the 1st one there's chances to go up in the world but I'm not sure there's as many places to go.
You're not too late at all :) No definite phone calls made yet. Nothing signed! Any and all comments gratefully received.

Take the highest paying. =)

I love my job, but I'm far underpaid for what I do.
I'd take job boredom for more money.
Or a professional beer tester.
Either or really

If I had your number and if it wasn't (I think) the middle of the night, I'd call you to congratulate
