Why do people have a publically accessible journal on the internet if they don't want anyone to be able to find it? I don't understand why they don't keep it private, on their PC or (*gasp*) on paper.

You may remember me talking about people finding my journal a while back, but the problem I had with it wasn't that people found it, but that people were reading things into it, and people were taking it ways that it was never meant.

People amaze me.

I'm not sure if this was about me or not, but I'll put my 2 cents in anyway... I have my journal online cause I do like to meet new people - its just some of the people who seem interested are just plain... stupid? Or in the case of one of them, I really can do without them seeing stuff. I went friends only cause i could've got in bad trouble for some of the ranting I was doing on people at school >_<
Maybe someday i'll go public again. But not till I can trust people again >_<
Anyway, thats just how I see it. Maybe others have that problem too? *blink*

Maybe I worded it badly. I don't care if you make it FO, that's your choice. You know that you can choose who reads it. What bugged me was a support request I looked at where someone was complaining that a search engine picked up their journal and was indexing it, and wanted it gone as a matter of urgency.

Why keep it on the net if you don't want it to be found at all though? Would it kill them if someone found out they had a journal online? Even if they couldn't see everything (and didn't know that)?

Hrm. Well I aint bothered over people finding it, so long as the people I know don't read it, cause I try and be very clear and literal in my journal *sigh*
Anyway, yah I agree - I used to have a paper diary before I found lj and it was fine and cool and stuff. Only problem was my bro reading it - now I have no problem cause he's on my friends list so i can control what he sees and stuff ^_^
*noddles* And i don't think it was your wording, just the way i've been acting up recently's kinda coincided with it and stuff ^_^ And i worry and feel the need to defend myself, raaaar...
