What, you mean most people here think that mobile phones aren't disposable? Wow....

It's basically a PAYG phone, stripped down. Selling for US$40. BTW - do Pay As You Go (prepay) phones exist in the US? I don't know... I never imagined that they would be a popular idea, or even sold. Hmm. Nice idea, I guess. Though the only reason I can see it selling in a big way, is with tourists who don't have a phone that will work in the US (tri-band). I know I'd find it useful if I were on holiday there and didn't buy another tri-band h/set.

Yeah...prepay cell phones exist here. My boyfriend has one. But he hasn't used it in awhile, so I doubt that it's still activated.

Damn, so you mean even if I do end up getting a transfer from T-Mobile(UK) to Voicestream (who are changing to T-Mobile(US) very soon apparently) then I'll still end up having to deal with millions of Prepay customers? Damn! :-))

(80% of TMob UK's mobile business is in the prepay market... gets a bit tedious at times.)

Yeah, they're all over (PAYG) mostly because i think they waive the 'must have good credit to buy phone' thing.

heh, yep. So you get the worst scum in the universe owning the things. I know if I were a drug dealer I would definitely use PAYG - you could give them whatever details you wanted...
