With 2 things: firstly, my finds in Woolworth's. The Madness of King George (what a film, what a soundtrack) and The Shawshank Redemption on DVD, buy one get one free, £9.99. Secondly, whilst not the best quality in the world, a Dictionary/Thesaurus/Encyclopedia set for £7.99.
Thirdly, however, my mother has been amazingly fantastic over the last few days. Monday we went to the flat again and looked about, checked measurements and that everything was as it is remembered. Everything was, except that there was no washing machine. I thought there was, but I was just confused between flats. Then she took me to Ikea. Bought crockery and cutlery, a computer desk, a TV stand and a bookshelf. Lots of peripheral stuff too, but in all she spent over £300! Erk! (However, I'll have you know that I bought lunch.)
Today I mentioned I was looking for a toastie-maker, after destroying my old one in Brantingham Road by trapping the power cord in the hot plates. Oops. I saw a Breville one which I instantly wanted in Argos. A "café style toasting grill", same style of thing you see in most coffee shops. It's fantastic. She bought the thing, I was going to but she got it for me.
Ain't mummies nice (sometimes - subject to terms and conditions).
Things I still need. A hoover of my own (will borrow parents' Vax until such time, they have a newer one), and a washing machine to rent, or find a suitable second hand one. I hate moving house...
