I had a vaguely successful day today - I got lots of stuff done that I've wanted to do over the last week but have been unable to, due to working all day and night. Bought glue for cabinet in the kitchen, collected my name plate for the door, so the postie (and neighbours) knows who I am now, uhhm...
I am pissed off at Glen's (White goods rental place) for not being open on Wednesday. I asked to rent a washer/dryer from them, but haven't heard a squeak about it since I went in on Saturday and filled in the forms. Apparently they can't do credit checks on Sat as their offices are closed, so they were going to call me... and considering they said delivery would be on Thursday, I'm understandably annoyed. Must cal tomorrow.
Work - been working 12hr shifts, as I keep on mentioning, I think. Going in at 10:15am and leaving at 10:15pm is hard work, and the new routing system we're testing ("Genesys") just keeps on pumping calls through to us, even when the old one ("Bermuda") has availability (people free and waiting to take calls). It's frustrating because our team has been split up and even if we could spend time talking to the folk around us, we don't know them, or who they are or anything.
Registered at doc's today. I have a new patient appointment/exam on Monday, 4th November. Oh dear. If this is indicative of the general wait for appointments, I shall not be a happy bunny. I really want to see someone soon too, as I haven't been able to stop sneezing since I moved here - not just at home, everywhere. Think I must be allergic to something, but what?
Replaced glass in both picture frames I broke (oops). Only cost me £11.75, which I'm pleased about, especially as they're frameless frames (if that makes any sense?).
Had a nice talk with Rach, yay. She's having a rough time of it atmk in her Teacher Training. Nothing serious, I don't think, just worries and insecurities that she's having to get over which are different from anything she's had to deal with before. Still wish I wasn't so damn far away. Though saying that, it's actually 100% easier and £15 cheaper to go see her for a weekend now because at least I'm on the right side of the river for the trains to Glasgow Airport! :-)
Babble? Me?
Heh.
You can tell it's getting into winter - I've had the heaters on in the rooms I've been in tonight. Not looking forward to seeing my electricity bill. Eeek. Changing to Powergen instead of Scottish Power but the change process is so slooooow! 28 days and I need info from Scottish Power that I don't have, nor do I have contact info for them. At least the mobile number porting process is easy - 5 days and everything you need is provided for you.
I'm surprised - I've had this WinXP installation running now for months, and I still haven't had the need to install Office on it. In a curiously geeky way, that makes me really happy!
