I do.

I used to have quite a thing for African Music. I like the rythms, the instruments used in most of it. It's "catchy", to put it in loose terms. I haven't listened to this CD in a while now (Mali Music) - and watching "Sahara with Michael Palin" when he met with some of his favourite Malian musicians reminded me just how much I enjoyed it. I've been itching since that program finished to listen to it.

For those of you unfortunate enough to never have heard of Michael Palin - he first attained fame through Monty Python, though I remember him for things entirely different. I remember him for "Pole to Pole", "Full Circle" and "Around the World in 80 Days" - all travel programs where he has had the fortune to travel through some of the most populous and pretty regions of the earth, to some of the most desolate and ugly.

You know something? It's f-ing cold. 5 deg C (41 deg F) my arse - I've had the heating on in whatever room I've been in all night, and I ain't usually bothered by the cold. I normally just layer on as many t-shirts and jumpers as I have to to keep confortable!

I love Michael Palin!

I've known about his video travel journals for quite some time, and I assume they're absolutely fantastic in all areas: thoughtful, funny, off the beaten path.

So why haven't I seen any of them yet? Search me. I think I need to raid my local library....
