So I met a smiling and bouncey [livejournal.com profile] amphigorey13 at the airport... last week now. Hugged, gave her a drink, jumped in the car, and started to drive along the motorway at breakneck speed.... ok... as fast as my car could manage. Suddenly, something's wrong, Shit. I'm travelling at 80 at I feel something wrong. Wrong noises, wrong feeling, wrong balance, everything was wrong. Pull over to the hard shoulder and DAMN, it's a flat tyre. Pull out the jack, fit the spare tyre, when putting the car back down again, find that the spare's flat too! Grrrrrrrr. That thing was less than 3 months old.

One visit from the RAC man later. we're on our way again. Albeit lots slower.

Many hugs later, and we did stuff. Went out. Came back. Did this a few times. Went out to Glasgow, went to see a couple of films, went to Glasgow, around Byres road and Great Western Road, round the city, round Trongate, round places. Did more stuff. Drove towards the Trossachs, after getting a much later start than we expected, so ended up at the Glengoyne distillery. Lots of whisky in an Alexis later, and we drove back, was going to take her to Helensburgh to get some rocks, but all the roads from Stirling to Balloch were closed. Grrr.

A short list of stuff we did:
  • The Burrel collection
  • Khubla Khan - Mongolian Restaraunt
  • The Glengoyne Distillery
  • Shopping
  • Bowling for Columbine and Donnie Darko at the UGC
  • Hugged lots
  • Got curry and beer
  • Drank champagne
I don't know, lots of stuff, lots of good things. Lots of sadness when she left because I'd had a fantastic time. Felt bad for almost running from the airport, but I was struggling. Guess I need to take a trip to foreign parts someday, eh?

It's not very often you find someone you're completely comfortable with, in any situation. I think I found one of these people. *sighs* Why why why, (Delilah?) do I?

Thank you sweetheart. You're so lovely. And I love that icon. If distance is ever not a problem, I'll be over to see you like a shot.

It reminds me of how I felt leaving the Atlanta airport. That was one of the hardest things I'd ever had to do in my life.
((((sympathetic hug)))))

I'm so glad you both had such a good time. you deserved it, the both of you, for many and various reasons.
