If you were to ask:
  • Why so deep?
  • Why so sad?
I wouldn't be able to answer. I'm just lonely and bored and fed up of having sat at home for 11hrs of today, with nothing that I either want or need to do. The 1hr I spent out was shopping, at work (cancelling overtime and picking up my jacket I forgot yesterday) and at Blockbuster (Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Minority Report and Harry Potter - The Philosopher's Stone). Also picked up another Douglas Reeman book.

Dad gave me a copy of Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men" when I was round there on Christmas Eve. I read 20-or-so pages of it before I got bored of his relentless ranting about everything. Fine, be angry, but there's no need to go on for so long! Also a copy of Terry Pratchett's "Night Watch", which I am enjoying greatly.

I've got an old book, it's called "A Trip Around the World" by John L. Stoddard. It's dated by a signature in the book for 1896. Yes, Eighteen Ninety Six. It's a little bit of a state, pages falling out but in general all the pages and the cover are in good repair. I want to get it fixed up. Does anybody have a clue how one can get this done? I'd really really like this done, it would be a fantastic thing.

Also, if anyone can find any info on Mr J. Stoddard and his life, can you let me know? I have found loads of stuff on his travel writings but nothing about him.

Dad was looking at flight prices to the US - as I mentioned a good present would be a flight, or money for a flight. Got some good ones with Iceland Air. Might be seeing some of you soon :)

I'm struggling here. I don't have anything to write. Really.

I could take a class on book restoration at the Center for Book Arts, and fix it up for you.

Regarding having nothing to do, I'm sure I could come up with a thing, or two, for you. :) Wasn't there something about finding out about Massage Therapy schools for some mad American you know?

Anyhow... there's more important things, like getting you here first! :)

Try your local archives (or local studies section in the library), they'll be able to point you towards a conservator who will do a nice a job of it
